As a full‑time Director of Preconstruction at Marous Brothers Construction, you will direct and coordinate all estimating and preconstruction activities for the group. This role leads the entire estimating function-from conceptual budgeting through hard bids-while guiding project teams through the critical early stages of the project lifecycle.
You'll oversee and mentor Project Estimators, manage workloads and bid schedules, refine budgets, review subcontractor bids and proposals, and ensure estimating procedures and standards are consistently followed. Working closely with Business Development, Operations leaders, Project Managers, and Design partners, you'll help position projects for successful execution long before construction begins.
You'll also play a key role in client relationships-preparing conceptual budgets, participating in strategy discussions, and representing MBC professionally with owners, partners, and industry organizations. In design‑build environments, you'll collaborate with design leadership to align scope, schedule, and budget through contract execution.
Qualified candidates will bring 10+ years of construction estimating experience, including extensive work on both competitive bid projects and conceptual budgets, with at least five years at a senior estimating or leadership level. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
This role requires a leader with strong technical judgment, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of construction practices, building codes, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and decisive-someone who can manage complexity, mentor teams, improve processes, and communicate confidently with clients and executives alike.
