Description
The Preconstruction Manager - Large Scale Industrial Projects - Charleston will be responsible for:
- Lead all preconstruction activities from initial concept through project turnover
- Prepare detailed conceptual estimates, budgets, and quantity takeoffs
- Coordinate with owners, architects, and consultants during design development
- Evaluate drawings and specifications to identify value engineering opportunities
- Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Develop project logistics plans, schedules, and procurement strategies
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless project handoff
- Support business development efforts through client presentations and proposal preparation
Profile
The successful Preconstruction Manager - Large Scale Industrial Projects - Charleston will have:
- 5+ years of experience in estimating or preconstruction with a commercial general contractor
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Experience developing budgets throughout all phases of design
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and project documents
- Strong subcontractor relationships and market knowledge within the Southeast preferred
- Proficiency with construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
