A day in this role
You step onto the shop floor and head to the toolroom. A transfer die needs attention—production is counting on you. You diagnose the issue, pull the die from the press when necessary, and put your machining skills to work. With careful measurements and print specs in hand, you restore the die to peak performance and support the press setup team so targets stay on track.
Throughout your shift, you’ll:
- Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and optimize transfer and line dies in and out of the press
- Operate toolroom machinery and equipment with precision
- Partner with press setup to drive efficiency and meet posted expectations
- Follow all safety procedures and site protocols
- Apply root cause analysis and problem-solving to boost quality and throughput
- Protect product integrity by holding quality to print specifications
- Assist as a wastewater handler once proper environmental training is completed
- Champion Lean practices including 5S and Kaizen; contribute to continuous improvement action plans
- Pitch in with other duties as assigned
