Join Ingersoll Rand as a Precision CNC Machining Technician and help craft components that power blowers, pumps, boosters, and other rotating equipment used across transportation, manufacturing, wastewater treatment, and more.

A day in this role

You’ll start on 1st shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM) at our onsite, fully site‑based facility. Expect overtime and some weekends during demand spikes. Your day blends setup, machining, assembly, and problem‑solving with a focus on quality and safety.

What you’ll do

  • Set up and run lathes, mills, and related CNC equipment; choose and secure tools, fixtures, and materials to meet spec.
  • Use shop math and precision measurement (micrometers, calipers) to calculate dimensions and confirm tolerances.
  • Develop and improve Standard Work sheets so machining and assembly stay consistent and in‑tolerance.
  • Apply the 5 Why Process to get to root causes; partner with engineering and supervisors for technical guidance.
  • Assemble, align, and rebuild units per Standard Work and engineering documents; verify clearances, lubrication, and cooling.
  • Maintain equipment performance: read Bills of Material, rework damaged parts when feasible, clean and lubricate machines.

What you’ll bring

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred experience

  • 2+ years in assembly and/or CNC machining.
  • Blueprint fluency, including GD&T.
  • Able to calculate and enter offsets using basic math.
  • Physical ability to regularly walk and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

  • Operation & control—confident equipment/system operation.
  • Troubleshooting—identify issues and determine corrective actions.
  • Equipment maintenance—perform routine service.

Schedule, pay, and extras

  • Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (overtime and some weekends).
  • Pay: Up to $20.68/hr with a guaranteed increase after 3 months.
  • Attendance: Perfect attendance bonus up to 2 additional days off and $1000.00.

Work arrangement

  • Onsite; fully site based.
