Precision CNC Machining Center Operator — Horizontal & Vertical Mills

Where: Livermore, CA

Shifts available now: 1st and 2nd

Machines in play: Horizontal Mills, Vertical Mills, CNC Lathes, Mill-Turn Lathes

Pay: Based on your experience, skill depth, and the equipment you can set up and operate.


Is this you?

  • Can you choose the right fixture and tooling to hit spec the first time?
  • Do you tweak feeds, speeds, and tooling paths to nail accuracy and finish?
  • Are you the person who notices a temperature change, coolant drop, or tool wear before it becomes a problem?
  • Do you interpret cutting plans and make control edits to correct minor issues?
  • Will you partner with engineers and supervisors to keep prints, plans, and parts in sync—and suggest changes when needed?

What you’ll handle

  • Setups: mount fixtures, attachments, and tools per job requirements.
  • Process control: adjust spindle/feed rates, tooling, and cut style for precision.
  • In-process checks: watch the cut, correct errors quickly, and prevent defects.
  • Machine care: monitor temperatures, warm-up/cool-down appropriately, maintain coolant.
  • Programming interface: review cutting plans, load into the control, and modify as necessary.
  • Final inspection: verify accuracy and uniformity to uphold our quality reputation.
  • Preventive maintenance: lube, clean, and swap tools on daily/weekly/monthly intervals.

Important: No programming positions are open at this time. Programming familiarity is still a plus.

Must have

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on CNC machine operation.
  • Comfort using hand tools and maintaining machinery.
  • Familiarity with programming concepts and interpreting CNC software.

Nice to have

  • Strong troubleshooting/problem-solving capability.
  • Precision mindset with a commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to understand G-code.
