Why This Role Matters
Help us deliver repeatable precision at scale. In this position, you’ll program, set up, and run a Palmary CNC grinder with Fanuc controls to achieve demanding tolerances while continuously improving cycle times, quality, and safety. You will report to the Production Supervisor and may also interface with a Production Lead for day-to-day direction.
What You’ll Do
- Operate, set up, and fine-tune a Palmary CNC grinder (Fanuc) to exacting standards.
- Develop and optimize CNC programs, fixturing, and standardized setup procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve advanced grinding issues to reduce downtime.
- Conduct first-piece approvals, in-process checks, and final verifications using micrometers, calipers, and gauges; complete all quality/production paperwork.
- Support and mentor CNC Grind Operators through setups, problem-solving, and best practices.
- Implement continuous improvement to cut setup time, raise throughput, and enhance machining methods, quality, and safety.
- Maintain accurate setup sheets and machine logs; partner with Setup Technicians and Engineering to refine performance, programs, and setups.
- Follow safety procedures, wear PPE, and sustain a clean, organized work area.
- Perform any/all other duties as assigned.

- Typical manufacturing setting.
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Frequent hand/finger use; moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, grasping.
- Safety equipment required: safety glasses and steel-toe shoes/boots.
Hours & Status
- Full-time, 40+ hours weekly.
- Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, eight (8) hours/day; specific hours set by management.
- Occasional overtime and evening/weekend shifts to meet business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma/GED or comparable relevant experience.
- 2+ years operating CNC machinery, including CNC grinders or lathes.
- Skilled with micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Proficient with hand tools (drills, screwdrivers, impacts, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and part schematics.
- Basic reading/writing, arithmetic, and ability to follow instructions.
Preferred
- 5+ years operating CNC grinders or lathes.
- Forklift experience.
