job Summary: Maintains surgical schedules to accommodate MD wishes and patient needs. Coordinates with Client Service Representatives/Medical Assistants, surgical facilities/ to make sure patients are facilitated through the organization from scheduling to appropriate procedure site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Scheduling procedures.
Verify accuracy and completeness of procedure request and data.
Confirm/Update proper patient financial documentation for billing purposes.
Work with appropriate departments on denied or pending explanations of benefits
Verify benefits and pre-authorizations from various sources.
Appropriate documentation of notations in clinical record, logs, practice management systems
Speak with Patients regarding schedule, benefits, out of pocket expenses, etc.
Outgoing referrals for MRI, CT etc.
Outgoing referrals to providers, PT, etc.
New patient referral/scheduling
Minimum Experience, Education, and Licensure:
High School Diploma or GED
Some experience as a scheduler, preferably in a medical or physician office
Some experience with benefit verification
Some experience with worker compensation processes
