Responsibilities
The Pre Service representative sets the patient's expectation and ensures a positive patient experience for upcoming surgical procedures and diagnostic tests by completing pre-registration and accurately and efficiently handling the day-to-day operations relating to financial clearance for the hospital system, including adult and pediatric acute facilities and diagnostic centers.
The pre service representative also initiates authorizations for non-scheduled hospital admissions as well as scheduled procedures as assigned. The pre service representative utilizes multiple systems simultaneously and works in a fast-paced, productivity-driven call center environment accepting inbound calls promptly and making outbound calls in a professional and courteous manner.
The representative independently works to resolve patient and provider questions related to referrals, pre-authorizations, and insurance verification. The representative possesses strong telephone communication and computer skills, problem-solving abilities, and demonstrates the highest level of customer service for all patients, providers, and other team members.
Qualifications
Required: • One year in Patient Registration, Insurance Verification, or Authorizations
Desired: • Three years Patient Access
High School Diploma or GED
