The mission of the Logan County School District is to enable all students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become successful contributing citizens. Comprised of five PS-eighth schools and one central high school, the district serves approximately 3500 students and employs over 500 staff members. Our student-teacher ratio of 151 allows educators to address the needs of each student. Several resources are used to increase instructional and leadership capacity in teachers and students, including Response to Intervention (RTI) in reading and math and ACT study programs to prepare students for college. To meet the needs of 21st century learners, a district technology grant creates a technology-literate learning environment. All certified staff participate in professional development to prepare for the implementation of the Kentucky Core Academic Standards. Finally, all Logan County teachers and principals participate in the Instructional Rounds process.
