Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Practicum Education, this position identifies, prepares and coordinates Practicum Education agency placements for social work students. The Practicum Education Specialist advises and supports students throughout the placement process and supports effective Practicum Education operations.

The position requires periodic travel and occasional evening and weekend work.

Essential Functions

Identifies and develops new Practicum Education agency partners.

Collaborate with Senior Practicum Specialists to review student practicum applications.

Educates students about Practicum Education policies, procedures, and expectations.

Advises and support students and agency partners throughout the Practicum Education placement process.

Educates agency representatives and Practicum Instructors about Practicum policies, procedures, and expectations.

Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation, student and agency records.

Ensures the accuracy and integrity of student records within University systems in strict accordance with FERPA regulations to support operational effectiveness.

Participates in student and agency evaluation processes.

Models and fosters respect for diversity, equality, and inclusion in all relationships, communications, and operations.

Develops effective communication with stakeholders.

Assists in the development and implementation of Practicum and GSS events (eg, orientation, training, graduation).

Participates in GSS, Practicum Department, and team meetings.

MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited social work program.

Minimum of two years post-MSW professional experience.

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills

Integrity, sound judgment, and ethical decision-making.

Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills.

Strong interpersonal and relational skills.

Excellent professional written and oral communication skills.

Ability to function independently and as part of a team.

Ability to maintain condentiality.

Technical prociency with commonly used software applications such as Excel, Microsoft Word, and Google.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with higher education-specic systems (e.g., Banner, Slate, Qualtrics, OnBase).

Familiarity with the metro NY area and surrounding counties' provider/agency systems.

Minimum Starting Salary $70,000 Maximum Starting Salary $75,000 Note Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills. Is this a Union position? No
