Practice Manager - Urgent Care

Classification: Exempt | Full Time

Open Door Health Services is seeking a full-time Practice Manager at 1651 E. 29th St. in Muncie, Indiana.

Overview

As an Open Door Practice Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of our Urgent Care clinic, ensuring efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for clinic performance across operations, staffing, quality, patient experience, and financial outcomes. You will partner closely with providers and leadership to improve access, optimize patient flow, and support care delivery for underserved populations.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 30 days, you will:

  • Learn our clinic operations, workflows, and team dynamics
  • Get to know staff and providers and begin building strong relationships
  • Identify opportunities to improve daily operations and patient flow
  • Begin understanding key performance metrics and how the clinic is performing

In your first 90 days, you will:

  • Start to see progress in clinic performance and daily operations
  • Implement improvements that make workflows more efficient for both patients and staff
  • Help ensure staffing and schedules align with patient needs
  • Establish a consistent rhythm for reviewing performance and identifying opportunities to improve

Roles & Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead daily clinic operations including patient flow, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Ensure appropriate coverage across all hours of operation to support patient access
  • Optimize throughput, including door-to-provider time and overall length of stay
  • Monitor and support key performance indicators related to access, volume, and patient experience
  • Develop and implement workflows to improve efficiency and reduce variation
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulatory, and safety standards
  • Maintain clinic readiness including supplies, equipment, and environment of care
  • Partner with providers and clinical leadership to support clinic performance
  • Review trends to inform staffing, scheduling, and operational decisions
  • Lead performance improvement efforts and support accreditation readiness
  • Supervise and support staff including medical assistants and front office team members
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Serve as a point of support for patient and staff concerns

Qualifications

  • Previous leadership or management experience required
  • Healthcare or clinic operations experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience managing staff, schedules, and workflows
  • Ability to interpret and act on performance data
