What does a Practice Manager do?

Oversee the day-to-day operation of a 5 or less physician clinic, focusing on physician relationships, staff relations, customer service, and financial management.

What does a typical day on the job look like?

  • Ensures clinic meets operational, revenue cycle, quality and financial benchmarks.
  • Ensures clinic meets strategic initiatives and improves clinic’s fiscal management.
  • Demonstrates human resource management through effective supervision, recruitment, retention, performance and compliance with Meritas Policies and Procedures, employment laws and regulatory standards.
  • Ensures clinic has effective and efficient clinical operations to include patient flow patterns to maximize physician schedules, referral management process, patient communication and scheduling to foster a customer service focus and culture.

What are the requirements for the job?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration.
  • 5 years of experience in physician’s office setting
  • Financial management skills, focused on cost containment, reimbursement, and collection practices.
  • Proficient experience in reimbursement procedures, efficient practice operation, budgetary finance skills and excellent communications and interpersonal sills are crucial to the success of this position.
  • Basic office skills, billing and EMR computer systems
