The Practice Manager for the IP and IP Litigation Practice will oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned offices, ensuring seamless functionality and optimal efficiency. This role requires strong organizational and management skills to support the team in delivering outstanding client services. This role requires experience in a Big Law environment.

Description

  • Manage daily operations of the IP litigation practice, ensuring efficiency and compliance with internal policies.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement process improvements and best practices.
  • Manage billable and pro bono staffing for IP Litigation attorneys across offices.
  • Partner with Training and Development team for onboarding and orientation of associates and lateral hires.
  • Plan and executive Department and Practice group strategy, prepare monthly productivity reporting.
  • Directly manage performance of Paralegals and legal support staff.
  • Contribue to pitches, RFPs, CLE programming, etc.
  • Oversee resource allocation and ensure the team is adequately staffed to meet client needs.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to support client service delivery and operational goals.
  • Identify training and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
  • Assist in budget planning and management for the legal department.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Profile

A successful Practice Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in professional services or legal environment.
  • 3+ years of experience mangaing teams directly.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to oversee daily operations effectively.
  • The ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and implement process improvements.
  • An understanding of budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to support team and client needs.
