Position Purpose The Practice Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of multiple practices and/or departments, ensuring performance, regulatory compliance, financial sustainability, and consistent execution of organizational priorities. This role focuses on leading leaders, driving cross-site performance, and executing strategic initiatives, applying HRO principles to ensure reliability, standardization, and continuous improvement. Nature and Scope The Practice Manager provides multi-site leadership and oversight, accountable for operational, financial, and quality performance across assigned departments. This position is responsible for managing the operational, financial, quality, patient experience performance of assigned departments and/or practices. This role works collaboratively with Providers, Practice Site Leaders, and staff to ensure the successful operation of high quality and efficient department(s). This position ensures the implementation and adoption of best operational practice, monitors clinical compliance such as OSHA and CLIA, and is responsible for analyzing financial data and budgets in order to make informed recommendations for continuous improvement. The Practice Manager must be able to successfully communicate across a wide spectrum of audiences, lead change initiatives, have strong financial and organizational skills, and be able to function effectively with multiple priorities. This role operates at a broader, more strategic level, translating organizational priorities into implementation across sites and ensuring alignment, consistency, and results. Note: In smaller environments, this role may operate without a Practice Site Leader and be responsible for directly managing clinic operations and staff where applicable. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas: Strategic Leadership Execution Translate organizational strategy into actionable plans across multiple sites Ensure standardization and consistency of operational practices Lead implementation of system-wide initiatives and change efforts Patient Experience Quality Improvement Develops and executes patient experience action plans based on performance data, patient feedback, and organizational priorities Sponsor and oversee quality improvement plans to ensure alignment with clinical, operational, and regulatory standards Monitor performance and progress, removing barriers and ensuring accountability for improvement across sites Multi-Site Performance Oversight Utilize the Daily Management System for key performance metrics and action plans Monitor and manage performance across practices, including access, throughput, and productivity Identify systemic issues and drive cross-site solutions and improvements Ensure sustained performance improvement across departments Monitor key performance metrics and initiatives action plans to address gaps in performance Financial Accountability Hold full accountability for departmental budgets and financial performance Analyze performance drivers and implement corrective strategies Partner with finance to manage variances and ensure sustainability Oversite of purchasing capital and operating equipment aligned with strategic execution Quality, Safety HRO Integration Drive adoption of HRO principles across practices, including standardization, escalation, and learning systems Oversee quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards Remove systemic barriers to achieving high reliability performance Operational Improvement Innovation Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives impacting access, efficiency, and patient experience Utilize data, benchmarking, and best practices to drive transformation Ensure improvements are scaled, sustained, and embedded into operations Provider Productivity Clinical Collaboration Oversee provider productivity and quality performance across departments Partner with providers, clinical leadership, and site leaders to address productivity gaps while maintaining quality and compliance standards Ensure alignment between operational and clinical priorities Review performance data and outline actional improvement plans and sustained results Leadership Talent Development Serve as a leader of leaders (e.g. Practice Site Leaders or equivalent roles) Develop leadership capability and succession pipelines Establish clear expectations, accountability, and engagement strategies Communication Change Leadership Communicate effectively across multiple stakeholders and levels of leadership Lead organizational change initiatives and ensure adoption Align teams to shared goals and performance expectations This position does not provide patient care
