Our ideal candidate brings at least 5+ years of management in Ophthalmology or Optometric experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

As the Practice Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our ophthalmology practice. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative and operational aspects of the practice, working closely with our physicians and staff to maintain the highest standards of patient care and service.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the ophthalmology practice, including scheduling, patient flow, and staff management
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize practice efficiency and patient satisfaction
  • Monitor and manage the practice's financial performance, including budgeting, billing, and revenue cycle management
  • Recruit, train, and supervise office staff, including front desk personnel, medical assistants, and administrative personnel
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations to ensure a cohesive and high-performing team
  • Ensure a positive patient experience by maintaining a welcoming and organized reception area
  • Address patient concerns and inquiries, striving to resolve issues promptly and professionally
  • Implement and uphold patient privacy and data security protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Oversee accurate coding and billing processes to maximize revenue and minimize billing errors
  • Collaborate with billing and coding specialists to ensure timely and accurate claim submissions
  • Stay current with industry regulations, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance guidelines
  • Help to ensure the practice's compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including maintaining licensure and certifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration or management, with specific experience in ophthalmology, retina, or preferred
  • 5+ years of management in ophthalmology or optometric experience required
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Proficiency in practice management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding patient care
  • Strong staff relations skills
  • In depth knowledge of revenue cycle management, third party reimbursement, regulatory issues and compensation plan methodologies
  • Working knowledge of NextGen, including building templates
  • Excellent Internet and related search skills as well as proficient with Microsoft Suite; advanced Excel; Axiom a plus
