Columbus Technical College is seeking an individual to serve as an adjunct Instructor in our Practical Nursing program.

Position Details:

  • Type: Part-time, Exempt
  • Location: May require teaching on or off campus throughout our service delivery area, including Muscogee County, Stewart County, Quitman County, Chattahoochee County, Harris County, and Talbot County.
  • Travel: May require travel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position will require physical ability to move about or stand for long periods.
  • Position also requires bending, stooping, reaching, and ability to safely lift up to 50lbs unassisted.

Note: May be required to teach high school students.

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct students in the PN program.
  • Follow state standards in developing the program and course outlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Evaluate student progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Request and maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Develop teaching methods and maintain management procedures and documentation.
  • Attend staff development training workshops, seminars, and conferences.
  • Ensure all safety and security requirements are met in training labs.
  • Maintain program certification requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports.
  • Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students.
  • Respond promptly to administrative requests.
  • Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
  • Maintain program accreditation requirements as appropriate.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of three years of practice as a licensed registered nurse within the preceding seven years.
  • Current Georgia or eNLC enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact RN License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Long-term care and hospital experience.
  • Teaching experience in post-secondary education.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong time management and organization skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication.
  • Keen observation, supervision, and evaluation skills.
  • General Computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Involvement in professional activities/organizations.
