EDGECOMBE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: PowerSchool School-Based Data Manager
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months/8 hours per day, or as determined by funding/program needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum, high school diploma, supplemented by specialized course work in the area of technology;
Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in the use of PowerSchool preferred;
Good communication skills (verbal and written);
Considerable knowledge of the student information management system used by the school system, operating procedures, related components, capabilities, limitations and system requirements;
Extensive knowledge of and experience with MicroSoft Office software programs - Word, Excel, AS400, and other student information software packages required;
Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Director of Accountability Services
JOB GOAL: Performs specialized technical and administrative work in the support, operation and coordination of the computerized student information management system for Edgecombe County Public Schools.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of information technology devices, audiovisual equipment, basic computer operation and software. Ability to learn various computer operations required for management of student information and integration of technology in classroom instruction.
Other: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on the division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; skill in oral and written communication.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and use fingers, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Occasionally the employee will lift up to 50 lbs. such as to lift files, paper, school supplies, books, etc.
