Role Summary
BI Developer responsible for owning the semantic layer and reporting ecosystem.
Develop and support reports across Power BI, Tableau, and SAS.
Work with data hosted on GCP/BigQuery through MCC.
Support both legacy and target-state platforms during the SAS MCC Power BI transition.
Core Responsibilities
Own and manage the semantic layer across SAS, MCC, and Power BI.
Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and consistency.
Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets.
Create advanced DAX measures and calculations.
Support and maintain complex Tableau dashboards.
Lead migration of Tableau reporting to the target Power BI platform where applicable.
Support legacy SAS environments by interpreting, maintaining, and retiring existing solutions.
Query, analyze, and model data in GCP/BigQuery via MCC.
Ensure reliable data delivery for reporting and analytics needs.
Document datasets, calculations, measures, and data lineage.
Enable self-service reporting for analysts and business users.
Technical Requirements
7+ years of experience in Data & Analytics roles.
5+ years of hands-on BI development experience.
Advanced Power BI expertise, including:
DAX development
Data modeling
Dashboard and visual design
Row-Level Security (RLS)
Performance tuning and optimization
Advanced Tableau expertise with experience supporting complex dashboards.
Ability to migrate Tableau solutions to Power BI.
Working knowledge of SAS to support and retire legacy solutions.
Experience with GCP/BigQuery through MCC.
Strong SQL development and query optimization skills.
Experience designing and optimizing semantic layers across multiple BI platforms.
Proficiency in Power Query (M) and DAX.
Python or R experience is an added advantage.
Understanding of HIPAA compliance within BI environments.
Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and PHI protection.
Familiarity with audit and compliance requirements for healthcare data.
