Advanced Machinist Technician

Responsibilities:
  • Execute precision machining operations by cutting, shaping, and forming metal components to required tolerances
  • Operate machining equipment including lathes, mills, drill presses, routers, grinders, brakes, shears, and saws
  • Set up machines, make adjustments, and perform basic preventative maintenance
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, process sheets, and sketches to complete production tasks
  • Use gauges, jigs, and fixtures to verify dimensions and ensure adherence to tight tolerances
  • Monitor and maintain quality standards using statistical process control (SPC) or similar methods
  • Operate light-duty bench and floor equipment such as punch presses, extruding machines, and power tools
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including identifying opportunities for process optimization and automation (AI exposure a plus)
  • Follow standard operating procedures under general supervision, with detailed guidance for new or complex tasks
Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical certificate (Machining, Manufacturing, or related) preferred
  • 3+ years of machining or manufacturing experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD designs
  • Experience with manual machining equipment (lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders)
  • Proficiency using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Familiarity with machine setup, adjustment, and maintenance
  • Basic computer skills for documentation or machine interfaces
  • Experience with mechanical hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to work in a production/manufacturing environment
  • On-site role; may require standing for extended periods and operating machinery
