Postdoctoral Researcher, Computer ScienceLocation: Kennesaw, GeorgiaRegular/Temporary: RegularFull/Part Time: Full‑TimeThis position is considered limited‑term staff since it utilizes contingent funding secured through June 30, 2027. Employment thereafter will be conditional based on continued availability of funding. Must be authorized to work in the United States.ResponsibilitiesPlans and executes experimental activities, data analyses, submission of reports or manuscripts to peer‑reviewed publications, and/or attendance and presentation of research findings at appropriate venues of disseminationDevelops and contributes to new ideas for research proposals and directions within the research groupDevelops an Individual Development Plan (IDP) in collaboration with faculty mentorGenerates revenue by securing grants and participates in departmental and institutional career development programs, such as grant writing workshopsPrepares project budget and ensures funded project operates within budget guidelinesMaintains official records and documents, and ensures compliance with institutional policies, and federal, state and local regulationsEstablishes working relationships and cooperative arrangements with internal and external partnersEngages in research and publicationRequired QualificationsEducational RequirementsPh.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g. D.V.M, Sc.D., M.D., PharmD., etc.) from an accredited institution of higher education or to obtain a doctorate within six months of hire.Preferred QualificationsAdditional Preferred QualificationsAn advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAbilitiesAble to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and to continue working legally for the proposed term of the appointmentAble to handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously to meet assigned deadlinesKnowledgeDemonstrated ability to carry out independent and collaborative research on a team of faculty and students with the ability to meet deliverables and milestonesDemonstrated creative and proactive approach towards problem solvingKnowledge of and experience in general analytical methods development and good analytical practicesMaintains a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the fieldSkillsOutstanding proposal and paper writing skillsExcellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem‑solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skillsProficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skillsStrong customer service skills and phone and e‑mail etiquetteRefer to the department specific Research Addendum for additional KSA informationOther InformationThis is not a supervisory position.This position does not have any financial responsibilities.This position will not be required to drive.This role is not considered a position of trust.This position does not require a purchasing card (P‑Card).This position may travel 1% – 24% of the time.This position does not require security clearance.Equal Employment OpportunityKennesaw State University is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
