Job Description Summary:

The Department of Physics at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position, expected to begin August 1st or soon after.

We seek an individual with expertise in lattice QCD or other approaches to hadron spectroscopy to join the Nuclear and Hadronic Theory Group led by Prof. Jozef Dudek. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with the local group and with scientists in the Theory Center at the nearby Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab). Applicants should possess experience in lattice QCD or closely related theoretical techniques, and should have a desire to solve problems related to the spectrum of hadrons using lattice QCD. The appointed researcher will work on projects within the Hadron Spectrum Collaboration under the supervision of Prof. Jozef Dudek.

The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of a second year based on performance and funding availability.

Job Description:

Required Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Physics, or related field, at the time of appointment (in August 2026).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research experience in the fields of lattice QCD and/or hadron spectroscopy, evidenced through journal publications.
