This position is particularly well suited for physicians interested in pursuing dermatology residency or other competitive specialties who have completed or will complete at least two years of ACGME accredited postgraduate training and will become eligible for an unrestricted New Mexico medical license during the appointment.

The Clinical Research Scholar will engage in mentored clinical translational and/or basic science research within the Department of Dermatology. This role is designed for physicians pursuing careers in academic medicine and physician-scientist pathways. The scholar will be actively involved in managing clinical trials and serving as a sub-investigator on industry- and investigator-initiated studies while working closely with faculty investigators to develop research skills, produce scholarly work, and contribute to ongoing projects. The position is intended to provide strong preparation for residency training and future academic careers.
