Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the CV Director-Cardiopulmonary or System Director-Cardiopulmonary in the lack there of, the Respiratory Supervisor coordinates and executes the activities of staff within the CV Respiratory Therapy Department or staff assigned to special teams/programs. The Supervisor is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating all aspects relating to patient care. The Supervisor determines what skill level of staff member is needed to maintain unit or program needs, utilizing evidence based information. The Supervisor assumes responsibility and accountability for incorporating the pillars of excellence (Finance, Delivery, Quality, Patient/Employee Experience, Safety, and Growth) into their job performance. The Supervisor is able to function independently and may on occasion provide direct patient care according to the needs of the unit or program. The Supervisor shall assist the Director-Cardiopulmonary/System Director Cardiopulmonary in executing HonorHealth's vision, mission and values, exceeding the expectations of all customers/stake holders associated with the CV Respiratory Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • FinanceResponsible charges accurately documented in electronic medical record. Responsible for maintaining staffing levels which meet or exceed WHOUPS goalsResponsible for accurately maintaining a supply par level for all equipment assigned to the Respiratory departmentResponsible for composing and managing the department schedule to meet all obligations, productivity levels and program requirements
  • DeliveryConducts huddles in review of department operations, patient care, and communication requirementsMaintain appropriate supply and equipment levels to provide optimum patient care, composing requisition requests as per guidelinesSupporting Sepsis Alert Team staff as required to meet bundle compliance and program obligationsSupporting Vascular Access Team staff as necessary to complete required duties Will be a resource in all modalities of Respiratory Therapy and designated programs
  • QualityStay informed and up-to-date on all new and evolving policy, procedures and processesShare best practices, equipment, staffing, supplies and processes to promote consistency, collaboration and standardizationMaintain and update DMS Huddle Board/Problem Solving BoardMaintain and update departments/employees required licensure, competencies and certifications
  • Patient/Employee ExperienceConducts purposeful rounding throughout the facility on both patients and staff resulting in real time problem solving and developing trusting relationshipsRound daily with Sepsis Alert Team to discuss SEP-1 Bundle ComplianceProvide informative and effective employee evaluations and reviewsWorks with the Director to increase Department Employee EngagementWill act as department advocate in assigned committees or organizational programs
  • SafetyUpdate and maintain risk event reportingWorks with Director to promote departmental safetyCollaborate with system educators in developing accurate competencies for all staff Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate safety initiatives
  • GrowthProvide innovative ideas for enhanced efficiencies, and service line opportunitiesCollaborate with staff to effectively implement ideas, suggestions for improvement and growth opportunities as brought forth by the department ACT teamPerforms other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelors in either Healthcare, Business or Education Required
  • Masters in either Healthcare or Business Preferred
EXPERIENCE
  • 5 years clinical experience in an acute care facility with one (1) year of lead experience Required
  • 7 years clinical experience in an acute care facility and three (3) years of lead experience Preferred or
  • 2 years of Vascular Access Insertion experience Preferred
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) - License Licensed Arizona Respiratory License. Required
  • Respiratory Therapist- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - License Registered Respiratory Therapist Current RRT credential Upon Hire Required
  • Other All Minimum requirementsandVascular Access Board Certification (VA-BC)orAdult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS)orNeonatal & Pediatric Specialist (NPS) Preferred
