Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Performs all functions related to polysomnographic exams and multiple sleep latency testing to provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders; assists with clinical and administrative oversight of polysomnographic technicians.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all polysomnograms and MSLTs according to clinical practice guidelines, as well as departmental policy and procedures. (50%)

  • Provides patient education. (15%)

  • Organizes and prioritizes workload and scheduling of patient testing in an efficient and effective manner. (10%)

  • Oversees the proper calibration, quality control and analysis of all polysomnographic equipment. (10%)

  • Mentors polysomnographic techs and provides educational oversight. (10%)

  • Assists with billing documentation and maintains department records according to departmental policy/procedure. (5%)

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • 4 years with sleep study testing

  • Graduate of polysomnography course or completion of an approved sleep lab training program.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

  • Associate"s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.

  • Basic EEG course.

  • RPSGT, CRT or RRT.

  • Computer experience.

  • Previous supervisory experience.
