Imagine This Shift

It’s late evening. You review the queue, check your line, and choose your station for the night:

• Blender: Turn measured additives into a uniform dry blend.
• Compounder: Weigh every production run precisely and manage raw material storage according to our standards.
• Packager: Box and bag PVC pellets, following silo selection and labeling requirements on the schedule.
• Console Operator: Move bulk raw materials from silos/tanks into mixers using computer-generated load sheets.

How You’ll Contribute

• Confirm melt-mixing equipment is safe and functioning properly.
• Follow approved processing instructions to hit output and quality targets.
• Set up each run to spec; ask the crew lead or supervisor when things don’t look right.
• Flag and communicate quality/process issues; keep teammates and relief operators informed.
• Cover breaks and step into any job or line as production needs shift.
• Complete a 90-day probationary period.
• Keep your area clean and organized.
• Pitch in with overtime when teammates are out; show up for department meetings.

Can You Meet the Physical Demands?

• Lift, cut, and pour 60-lb bags into blenders multiple times per shift.
• Move a total of 20,000–40,000 lbs of materials from boxes/drums over a shift.
• Drive forklifts and hand trucks.
• Scrape blender walls and clean interiors.
• Climb ladders and stairs frequently.
• Handle drums with proper tools.
• Bend, stoop, and lean for extended periods.
• Wear PPE at all times.

What Sets You Up for Success

• Comfort reading procedures and solving practical problems.
• Math fluency: whole numbers, fractions, decimals; rate/ratio/percent; interpret bar graphs.
• Reliable, consistent attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Lift up to 50 lbs many times per shift; navigate stairs; tolerate warm-to-hot environments.
• Train on 1st shift for up to four weeks; transition to 2nd or 3rd shift; open to weekend overtime as needed.
• Forklift license; PPE adherence (safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, respirator when required).
