Starting Salary: $59,000 - $77,413 based on qualifying years of law enforcement experience.

$1000 annual stipend ($41.67 per pay period) for possessing a Bachelor's Degree

Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Requires a high school diploma or GED and successful completion of the Chesapeake Police Academy, another acceptable Police Academy, or comparable training.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Requires a valid driver's license and driving record in compliance with the City Driving Standards. Special skills or equipment certification will be required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This job classification provides service to the community on a 24-hour basis. To accommodate the 24-hour service, this job classification is required to work rotating schedules, which include working weekends and holidays, and may involve work over regularly scheduled hours when required by operational necessity.

OPTION 2: E-MAIL TO CPDRecruiting@cityofchesapeake.net. Your PHS must be fully completed to include pages 21 and 22 being notarized. The PHS must be professionally scanned as one document and emailed as one attachment directly to the Background Investigations Unit.
