Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The primary purpose of the University Police Department is to protect the lives and property, real and personal, of all personnel and visitors who frequent the campus. This unit must enforce all applicable federal, state, and local laws as well as the university rules and regulations. In addition, this unit must patrol and secure the grounds of North Carolina Central University by responding to calls and/or complaints, perform preliminary investigations of criminal and conduct incidents, record and refer complaints, complete and file reports on all incidents.
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to protect the lives and property, real and personal, of all personnel and visitors who frequent the campus. This position effectively oversees, accounts for, and secures state property, maintains a safe environment, assists and notifies the police department of upcoming events that would critically impact the North Carolina Central University community and Police & Public Safety Department. This position reports to the Field Operations Commander.
