Southern University and A&M College is looking for a Police Officer 2 to protect lives and property through active foot and mobile security patrols. This position must provide first aid and emergency services, enforce parking and traffic regulations, provide crowd control at special events, prevent interference with normal operations, and direct traffic.
Minimum Qualifications Experience Substitution Necessary Special Requirements
One year of law enforcement experience.
Experience Substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Necessary Special Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Possession of a current Louisiana drivers license. Possession of an active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification may be required.
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Job Duties: • Enforces local, state and federal laws through foot and mobile patrols. • Provide crowd control and traffic control. • Provide emergency services. • Make arrests and prepare necessary paperwork. • May serve as an assistant shift supervisor. • May investigate serious crimes and accidents. • May testify in court. • Conducts crime prevention programs. • Work special assignments. • Perform other duties as assigned.
