    Plumbing Design EngineerLocation: Pasadena, CA | Type: Full-Time | Industry: AEC / Mechanical ContractingPosition OverviewWe are seeking a technically-driven Plumbing Design Engineer to lead the conceptual design and construction drawing development for a variety of commercial and industrial projects. This is a "cradle-to-grave" engineering role where you will be responsible for everything from high-level plumbing calculations and energy analysis to field coordination and final document management.Key ResponsibilitiesFull-Cycle Design: Lead the design and layout of complex plumbing systems, including gas piping, waste and vent, domestic water distribution, and specialized kitchen plumbing.Engineering Authority: Independently perform hydraulic calculations and sizing for multiple small-to-medium-sized projects simultaneously.Compliance & Sustainability: Create conceptual designs certified to current Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards.Tech-Driven Modeling: Produce high-quality 3D models and construction drawings utilizing Revit and AutoCAD .Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proactively coordinate with Project Managers, Field General Foremen, and other trades (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls) to ensure seamless execution.Field Engineering: Assist with on-site project execution, trade coordination, and technical troubleshooting as required.QualificationsEducation: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.Experience: 3+ years of experience within a design/build mechanical contractor or engineering consultancy.Technical Mastery: High proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD is required.Licensure: EIT or PE (Professional Engineer) license is highly desirable but not required.Specialized Knowledge: Solid understanding of commercial plumbing applications, local/state building codes, and industry standards.Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to manage time effectively across multiple deadlines.Preferred SkillsLEED AP certification.Experience with specialized systems (Medical Gas, Laboratory Grade Piping).Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and Smartsheet.#J-18808-Ljbffr
