Do you live and breathe ladder logic?

Join Novolex, a leader in food, beverage, and specialty packaging with solutions spanning resin, paper, molded fiber, aluminum, and more—serving foodservice, delivery, processing, retail, grocery, and industrial customers. Our sustainability vision centers on products, operations, and people—three pillars that guide how we grow responsibly.

Why this role?

  • Because EHS excellence matters to you—and you know zero incidents is achievable.
  • Because you can trace a control fault from HMI to PLC to drive, then lock in a permanent fix.
  • Because you love turning complex schematics into clear actions the whole team can execute.

Your impact

  • EHS Leadership: Drive a zero‑incident culture; support investigations, correct unsafe acts/conditions, and coach others using every incident or near‑miss as a teachable moment.
  • Automation & Controls: In‑depth troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, and motor drives—Allen‑Bradley required plus at least one alternative platform (Mitsubishi, Schneider, GE, Opto, etc.). Edit ladder diagrams and validate code changes.
  • Electrical/Instrumentation: Calibrate and repair instruments; perform electrical/electronic installs and modifications, including drives and programmable controllers.
  • Drives & Motion: Apply AC vector and servo drive theory to commissioning, tuning, and diagnostics.
  • Circuitry & Mechatronics: Work across AC/DC systems and sinking/sourcing I/O; leverage basic hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and PC hardware.
  • Documentation: Read and create/modify wiring diagrams, schematics, and specifications; use CAD tools (AutoCad, Vizio). Maintain technical procedures, manuals, and accurate as‑built records.
  • Continuous Improvement: Use PDCA to reach root cause; implement countermeasures that prevent recurrence and improve uptime.
  • Team Enablement: Provide top‑tier technical support to shift electricians; deliver training across the organization; supervise contractors to minimize downtime.
  • Flexibility: Support variable hours as needed, including some weekends/holidays and call‑ins.

What you need to succeed

  • High school diploma/equivalent and an apprenticeship or equivalent training (required).
  • Associate’s in maintenance or industrial technology (preferred).
  • 5+ years in industrial maintenance with extensive automation/controls work.
  • Comfort with Microsoft apps, Outlook, SAP, and related tools.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Electrical Standards and NEC.
  • Root‑cause troubleshooting mindset and strong logic.
  • Self‑starter who communicates clearly and works well under tight deadlines.
  • Proven collaborator in team settings.
