Key Responsibilities

  • With guidance from the VP Engineering and senior electrical staff, design and estimate unit load conveyor and storage systems; oversee installation and turnover.
  • Analyze system specifications; plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed engineering activities for assigned work.
  • Select appropriate equipment and suppliers to meet all requirements.
  • Prepare/coordinate technical content, schedules, electrical equipment lists, electrical installation scopes, bases of quote, and overall pricing for proposals.
  • Maintain complete, current project files.
  • Release required documentation/forms to secure schedules, electrical and controls equipment, installation, spare parts lists, and maintenance manuals.
  • Contribute to concepting, written communications, total electrical pricing, and accurate estimates-to-complete.
  • Provide engineering support for proposal development.
  • Implement orders and manage electrical installation subcontractor agreements.
  • Continuously learn material handling technology and controls to maintain our industry leadership.
  • Recommend cost-reduction opportunities across engineering, equipment, controls, and installation.
  • Assist with training new hires on procedures, drawing standards, and routine electrical applications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 1 year in technical systems, including control system design and controls knowledge.
  • PLC and HMI programming experience.
  • Panel design experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to design basic control solutions for material handling systems.
  • AutoCAD design experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and the internet.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
