PLC/Controls and Electro-Mechanical Service Technician

Why this role matters

• Minimize downtime by rapidly troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing electrical and automation issues.
• Execute work orders and keep precise records of tasks and findings.
• Operate test instruments; interpret results to isolate faults and verify fixes.
• Read and apply schematics, drawings, and diagrams to guide repairs and improvements.
• Troubleshoot PLC hardware and support automated equipment reliability.
• Apply NEC requirements and safe work practices every day.
• Prioritize workloads, manage multiple assignments under pressure, and communicate status to leaders and peers.
• Adapt scheduling as needed to meet production demands.

Tools, systems, and assets you’ll touch

• Electrical: AC/DC motors, motor controls, MCCs, VFDs, electrical distribution (480 VAC)
• Automation and controls: PLCs, instrumentation, and related hardware
• Mechanical and utilities: pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, air compressors, chillers, heat exchangers
• Production equipment: extruders, winders, slitters, center-folders, grinders, shredders, packing and box machinery

Pay, bonus, and schedule

• $7,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates (some restrictions apply).
• Starting wage: $31.09 per hour; weekly pay.
• Annual and skill-based wage increase eligibility.
• Monthly bonus potential tied to plant productivity.
• Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM (2x2x3 schedule), rotating quarterly between days and nights.

Qualifications

• 1+ year as an Industrial/Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician; OR 2 years related trade/technical schooling; OR 4 years Industrial/Manufacturing experience with proven electrical knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset.
• Comfort working solo, paired with trades or operations, and within a team with limited supervision.
• Physical capability to stand long periods; climb, kneel, squat, crawl; and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work varied hours.
• Proficiency with electrical equipment and instrumentation/controls; AC/DC motors and MCCs; electrical distribution; AC VFDs/DC drives; PLCs and automated equipment; and OSHA-aligned industrial standards.
