Working in conjunction with all areas of operations to provide support and lead activities in continuous improvement, while keeping equipment running as designed and adapting to new products or process production. You pride yourself on delivering quality solutions, have a structured approach to your work, and display a full understanding of what excellent production quality is.Focus (Approximate)50% PLC & HMI process optimization and support for technicians and projects.50% Technical lead on process optimization (Production Technology).ResponsibilitiesPlan, manage, and oversee production equipment and processes in our manufacturing facility.Increase speed and efficiency of processes without compromising quality.Identify PLC program/logic issues and troubleshoot errors to find short- and long-term solutions.Develop, maintain, and optimize HMI (Human Machine Interface) terminals for operator-controller interaction.General all-around housekeeping of hardware and software of PLC development projects, in collaboration with Denmark counterparts.Develop, manage, and maintain documentation for all facility PLC-automated systems from various manufacturers (Omron, Siemens), including schematics, diagrams, and user manuals.Provide reactive and responsive support to factory technicians to assist in troubleshooting and repair of PLC related issues on site or by remote support, as required.Draft and maintain SOP's and/or Work Instructions of production processes.Design and implement cost-reductive and continuous improvement changes to production processes.Communicate with vendors to obtain materials and/or equipment needed.Participate in the development, specification, and implementation of minor automations and production process changes.Ensure that production equipment is kept up to date in relation to current industry technological development.Ensure compliance with safety and environmental conditions in the production areas.Support a motivating and positive work environment with great drive and flexibility, and with a positive attitude towards “Inspire, Lead, Deliver.”Personal & Professional Qualifications, Competences And EducationBachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent relevant work experience required.Automation/Controls Engineering or PLC Programmer/Engineer preferred.+3 years' experience with automation technologies in manufacturing.Proven track record of completing CI & small/medium projects.Related work experience in a technical manufacturing environment.Experience programming PLCs using IEC1131-3 languages such as ladder logic (LL), function block diagrams (FBD), structured text (ST), or other applicable programming languages (Omron & Siemens preferred).Knowledge and prior experience of HMI design and programming (Omron & Siemens preferred).Knowledge of robotics and motion control systems.Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in industrial automation.Competences and qualifications – able to:Scope and describe projects.Identify and manage risks.Understand and explain automation knowledge proficiently.Ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team to meet personal and department goals.Excellent communication and documentation skills, both verbal and written.Ability to quickly adapt to changing requirements based on received input.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Provide process training for operators, technicians, and/or management personnel.Lead or participate in project teams as assigned.Ability to learn and adapt to new PLC's/HMI's and protocols as they are introduced.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.A willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technology and industry trends.WE OFFER MORE THAN JUST A JOBCompany paid medical benefits with no premium for employees, and a generous employer contribution for families.Competitive starting salary.401k match with no vesting period.13 paid holidays.Generous vacation and sick time.Positive work/life balance.Opportunity for career advancement.About KamstrupKamstrup develops, produces, and sells smart energy and water meters, relating reading systems, data analysis tools and services to utilities and other users over the entire world.
