The Merch Manager oversees all merchandising operations within assigned departments, including layout, signing, product placement, markdowns, freight flow, loss prevention, and department maintenance. They act as the Manager on Duty in the absence of the Store Manager and may handle HR functions like hiring and staffing. Responsibilities include driving sales, meeting budgets, training staff, executing company initiatives, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining store standards. They are responsible for communicating policies, auditing controls, and deterring theft through visible management. The role requires flexible hours, the ability to work at various locations, and physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs. Candidates should have 3-5 years of management experience, strong leadership skills, proficiency with retail software, and a high-energy, hands-on leadership style. A high school diploma is required; college degree preferred.
