Subsidiary: New Millennium Overview:

The Plant Safety Coordinator will ensure that the division is executing the safety programs consistently across all departments. This includes safety performance, reporting, and driving towards world-class in all safety-related aspects. The Plant Safety Coordinator will also be involved with the professional development of Department Safety Coordinators.

Responsibilities:
  • Support division leadership in the implementation of the “Take Control of Safety” program within all departments.
  • Guide and ensure the Department Safety Coordinators are implementing the proper training programs and safety initiatives.
  • Lead the New Hire orientation and training
  • Tend to employee safety related questions/needs as arise in office and field environment.
  • Ensure proper OSHA recordkeeping and reporting as well as other safety statistics for division and corporate needs.
  • Evaluate and oversee Incident Management System (Intelex) utilization division wide.
  • Manage consistency of safety programs and policies division wide.
  • Oversight of the SDI Safety Calendar compliance for the division.
  • Assemble and schedule monthly safety training topics and events as needed, encouraging innovation in the process.
  • Safety alert distribution and preparation in conjunction with the Department Safety Coordinators.
  • Communication with Corporate Safety Director as needed.
  • Perform safety audits throughout the division and company
  • Frequent department safety communication walkthroughs
  • Ergonomic, engineering, and housekeeping improvement project management
  • Document and track divisional employee safety training
  • Oversee JSA, LOTOTO, and SOP development and revisions
  • Incident investigation, review, and follow-up
Qualifications:
  • B.S. or equivalent in a Safety-related field
  • 3 or more years safety-related experience in a heavy industrial environment
  • Highly effective coordination and communication skills
  • Travel requirements – intercompany and continuing education, benchmarking as needed
