CLIENT OVERVIEW:

Our Client is a global leader in clean air solutions and they have been in business since the 1960’s. Our Client designs, manufactures, and supplies a wide range of filtration systems for commercial, industrial, and healthcare markets. Our Client is committed to sustainability and focuses on improving, via their products, the environment where hundreds of thousands of employees work worldwide.

This facility has been in operation for about 50 years and has approximately 125 full time employees.  Presently they run 11 Value Streams and they are a Non-Union facility.

SUMMARY:  

Our client is looking for someone who has worked as either an Operations Manager or a Plant Manager for a small to medium size manufacturing plant to take this role for their facility.

If selected for the Plant Production Manger role, you will be involved in learning all aspects of the plant’s operations due to the current Plant/Operations Manager preparing to retire in the next 5-6 years.

Reporting to the Plant/Operations Manager, the Production Manager position is responsible for all manufacturing processes in the plant. This position is responsible for reporting of all KPI’s, production & labor reporting as well as assigned projects.

Must lead, motivate and provide resources and knowledge to process work teams and assure that products are manufactured in a cost efficient and timely manner while following EH&S and quality standards. This person will develop processes that will maximize safety, quality, productivity, and profitability while meeting customer service standards. 

They will be responsible for the training, mentoring, educating the teams to become a World Class manufacturing plant, and the development of staff as this is the “core business” in improving manufacturing processes.  In addition, in this role you will have the responsibility of maintaining a positive climate for employee relations

. This person must also be hands-on, willing to roll up their sleeves to help build product and/or troubleshoot when issues arise. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

In addition to those listed in the Summary section above, the following are duties necessary for the position. 

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Our Client’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, interviewing and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, performance appraisals, addressing complaints and resolving problems or disciplining employees.
  • Performs prescribed quality procedures in accordance with plant quality system requirements.
  • Assigns production hours for each department based on workload.
  • Reviews accuracy of production hours to job and for standard cost purposes.
  • Reviews job pack.
  • Order Shop Tools.
  • Reviews and coordinates job packs and distributes to Production Supervisor.
  • Report manufacturing status daily to Operations Manager.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Adjusts errors and complaints.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Associates Degree or equivalent, a minimum of two to five years’ manufacturing production leadership experience in a manufacturing environment-Required.
  • Prefer someone with a BS or BA degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Operations, or something similar
  • Strong team leadership, interpersonal, people management and communication skills.
  • Comprehensive experience in production planning and workflow optimization.
  • Strong command of production systems including ERP, MRP, and MES.
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and supply chain dynamics, value stream understanding.
  • Familiarity with automation technologies.
  • Proficient in setting and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Solid background in budgeting and scheduling.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis and driving process improvement initiatives.
  • Highly analytical, with a talent for troubleshooting production and quality issues.
  • Experience thriving in high-pressure environments and managing shifting priorities.
  • Committed to maintaining workplace organization and safety, including OSHA safety certifications.
  • Well-versed in EHS and regulatory requirements.
  • Above average reading comprehension, writing and oral communication skills.
  • Technical math skills are required
  • Strong reasoning ability. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and or schedule form.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an organizational culture of high performance, employee involvement, and continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and team concepts.
  • Proficient with PCs, Microsoft Suite, timekeeping, and other production data management systems
  • Extensive knowledge in Project Management and training.

COMPENSATION:

Base salary range:  $120-180K plus performance bonus; Excellent Benefits; Some Relocation Assistance
