Universal Industrial Gases, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nucor, is seeking a qualified Plant Operator in Ghent, KY to monitor, maintain, and optimize 24/7 continuous air separation and cryogenic plant operations. Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, relevant experience in industrial gas, cryogenics, or continuous process facilities, and a general knowledge of electrical and instrumentation equipment.

Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Plant Operations & Monitoring: Conduct routine rounds, monitor system performance, inspect equipment, record critical readings, and document operational abnormalities for timely corrective action.
Maintenance & System Calibration: Safely execute planned maintenance duties, utilize calibration gas cylinders and standards, and perform routine analytical adjustments on plant instrumentation.
Compliance & Technical Documentation: Read and interpret technical manuals, P&IDs, and process drawings while strictly adhering to FDA, cGMP, and UIG Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
Education & Credentials: High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate’s degree or technical school certification is preferred.
Relevant Background: Experience in military operations, continuous process facilities, or industrial gas/cryogenics environments.
Technical & Safety Aptitude: General knowledge of process plant electrical and instrumentation equipment, combined with a strong commitment to leading and upholding safety standards.
