PPS is seeking a detail-oriented Plant Operator for our liquid waste management facility in Austin. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits and a high ceiling for growth!
Responsibilities:
Load/unload docks using forklift
Operate and monitor pumps, valves, chemical feed systems, and other treatment equipment to control the flow and treatment processes
Monitor gauges and charts, and use computerized systems to ensure optimal treatment and compliance with regulations
Collect samples at various points and perform laboratory tests to assess water quality and treatment efficiency
Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment, identify and resolve equipment issues, and make necessary repairs
Document operational data, maintain records on water quality, and prepare reports to ensure adherence to environmental regulations
Follow safety procedures, plan emergency response protocols, and act to fix issues
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
Experience safely handling liquid waste, wastewater, or chemicals
High level of attention-to-detail
Proven mechanical acumen and previous work with pumps, motors, valves, etc.
Forklift operation experience
Monitoring machines or processes
Ability to follow SOPs to maintain environmental compliance
