QUALIFICATIONS

Skills & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous food manufacturing, food processing, or beverage production experience strongly preferred
- Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience repairing and maintaining industrial production equipment and machinery
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance (PM) and emergency equipment repairs
- Experience diagnosing equipment failures and implementing corrective actions
- Welding, fabrication, and mechanical repair experience preferred
- Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Experience maintaining forklifts, pallet jacks, loading dock equipment, conveyors, pumps, - motors, gearboxes, compressors, and production machinery
- Knowledge of electrical systems, motors, bearings, chains, belts, and power transmission equipment
- Ability to maintain maintenance logs, repair records, and parts inventory
- Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SQF, USDA, HACCP, and food safety standards
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative maintenance team
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to minimizing equipment downtime
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures
- Reliable attendance and willingness to respond to emergency maintenance needs when required

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Plant Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing production equipment, facility systems, and mechanical machinery throughout a food manufacturing facility. This position plays a vital role in minimizing equipment downtime, supporting production operations, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment.

Primary responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance (PM), diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, repairing industrial equipment, servicing hydraulic and pneumatic systems, maintaining forklifts, pallet jacks, loading dock equipment, and supporting facility improvements. The successful candidate will work closely with production, quality assurance, and management teams to ensure equipment reliability while adhering to all food safety, GMP, SQF, USDA, and company safety standards.
