Position Overview
 
Our client seeks an experienced Plant Manager to lead plating operation. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, results-oriented leader with a proven track record in managing complex manufacturing processes, improving operational efficiencies, and ensuring product quality. This position requires a strong technical background in plating or similar processes, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
 
 
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire plant operation, focusing on achieving production targets, optimizing processes, and ensuring product quality meets client specifications and industry standards.
  • Implement and maintain strict safety and environmental protocols, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage and develop a team of supervisors, technicians, and production workers, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with the engineering, quality assurance, and customer service departments to address technical challenges, improve process capabilities, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and manage the plant's budget, including capital expenditure projects, to support strategic goals and financial objectives.
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and other external partners to ensure a smooth supply chain and timely project completion.
  • Create a positive working culture, where employees want to work.   


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role in a manufacturing role.  Plating or metal finishing operation experience is an additional benefit. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, people, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems; familiarity with process improvement software (e.g., Minitab) is a plus.
