Our client, a leading manufacturer of industrial racking systems, is seeking a Plant Manager for their manufacturing facility in Lamar, SC. This individual will oversee all plant operations including fabrication, welding, production, scheduling, quality, safety, and facility operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has experience leading structural steel or heavy fabrication operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day plant operations including fabrication, MIG welding, production, scheduling, quality, maintenance, and shipping
  • Drive safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility
  • Manage workforce planning, backlog scheduling, and production output metrics
  • Lead and develop production teams while maintaining a positive and accountable culture
  • Oversee CNC and welding equipment operations, machine layout, and facility organization
  • Monitor KPIs, budgets, forecasting, and operational performance
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of PPE
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure on-time delivery and operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of managerial or supervisory experience within a structural steel, metal fabrication, or heavy manufacturing environment
  • Experience overseeing fabrication, welding, and production operations
  • Knowledge of MIG welding, CNC equipment, and blueprint reading
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, MES systems, and ERP systems such as Epicor
  • Ability to manage budgets, production schedules, and operational planning
  • OSHA or accredited safety training preferred
