Our client, a leading manufacturer of industrial racking systems, is seeking a Plant Manager for their manufacturing facility in Lamar, SC. This individual will oversee all plant operations including fabrication, welding, production, scheduling, quality, safety, and facility operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has experience leading structural steel or heavy fabrication operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day plant operations including fabrication, MIG welding, production, scheduling, quality, maintenance, and shipping
- Drive safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility
- Manage workforce planning, backlog scheduling, and production output metrics
- Lead and develop production teams while maintaining a positive and accountable culture
- Oversee CNC and welding equipment operations, machine layout, and facility organization
- Monitor KPIs, budgets, forecasting, and operational performance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of PPE
- Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure on-time delivery and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- 10+ years of managerial or supervisory experience within a structural steel, metal fabrication, or heavy manufacturing environment
- Experience overseeing fabrication, welding, and production operations
- Knowledge of MIG welding, CNC equipment, and blueprint reading
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, MES systems, and ERP systems such as Epicor
- Ability to manage budgets, production schedules, and operational planning
- OSHA or accredited safety training preferred
