Job Title: Plant & Machinery Maintenance Technician

Location: Mentor, OH


Overview:

A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled Plant & Machinery Maintenance Technician to support ongoing production operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect equipment, perform adjustments, and document test readings and repairs
  • Execute routine and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and production disruptions
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues on production equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Perform preventative maintenance using established programs and checklists
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment documentation
  • Assemble, align, and repair mechanical and electrical components using appropriate tools and equipment
  • Respond promptly to equipment failures and facility service requests
  • Ensure proper operation of machinery including CNC equipment, welding systems, and air systems
  • Fabricate or modify parts as needed to complete repairs
  • Investigate equipment malfunctions and collaborate with team members to resolve issues
  • Support installation and testing of new equipment
  • Follow all safety procedures, including strict adherence to lockout/tagout protocols
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Complete documentation of all work performed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong experience with CNC maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of machining, welding, electrical systems, and hydraulics
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong sense of accountability and urgency regarding equipment uptime
  • Forklift maintenance experience is a plus
