Job Title: Plant & Machinery Maintenance Technician
Location: Mentor, OH
Overview:
A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled Plant & Machinery Maintenance Technician to support ongoing production operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect equipment, perform adjustments, and document test readings and repairs
- Execute routine and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and production disruptions
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues on production equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Perform preventative maintenance using established programs and checklists
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment documentation
- Assemble, align, and repair mechanical and electrical components using appropriate tools and equipment
- Respond promptly to equipment failures and facility service requests
- Ensure proper operation of machinery including CNC equipment, welding systems, and air systems
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed to complete repairs
- Investigate equipment malfunctions and collaborate with team members to resolve issues
- Support installation and testing of new equipment
- Follow all safety procedures, including strict adherence to lockout/tagout protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Complete documentation of all work performed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong experience with CNC maintenance and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of machining, welding, electrical systems, and hydraulics
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong sense of accountability and urgency regarding equipment uptime
- Forklift maintenance experience is a plus
