Plant Controller


We are partnering with a manufacturing company seeking a Plant Controller to serve as the financial leader for a growing production facility located in Greater Sacramento area. This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Plant Controller or a Senior Accountant with strong manufacturing experience who is ready to step into their first Plant Controller role.


This is an individual contributor position that works closely with plant leadership and corporate finance to support operational performance, cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, and continuous process improvement.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with operations leadership to provide financial guidance and support plant performance.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, manufacturing variances, and key operational metrics.
  • Lead month-end close activities related to plant operations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory valuation and support cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Analyze labor, material, and overhead costs while identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning.
  • Monitor inventory levels and cost trends while supporting operational decision-making.
  • Develop financial analyses that support capital expenditures and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and inventory procedures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, purchasing, supply chain, and finance.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience within a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of:

  • Cost accounting
  • Inventory accounting
  • Manufacturing variances
  • Financial reporting
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience working within an ERP system.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • CPA or CMA is a plus but not required.

Compensation:$115,000–$125,000 plus comprehensive benefits.
