our manufacturing finance and operational accounting infrastructure to support

long-term growth.

We are seeking a hands-on Plant Controller / Operational Accounting Manager to

support manufacturing finance, inventory controls, ERP discipline, operational

reporting, and coordination with external bookkeeping resources.


Job Summary:

The Plant Controller / Operational Accounting Manager will serve as a key finance

partner to manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, operations, and bookkeeping

teams. This role is responsible for ensuring integrity and accuracy across inventory

accounting, production reporting, operational reconciliations, manufacturing

variances, and month-end close support. This role combines manufacturing finance, operational accounting, ERP process management, and bookkeeping coordination within a fast-paced manufacturing

environment.The ideal candidate is operationally minded, detail-oriented, hands-on, and

comfortable working cross-functionally to improve financial visibility and process

discipline throughout the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting:

  • Support month-end close activities related to manufacturing operations,
  • inventory, and operational accounting
  • Maintain accuracy of inventory valuation, WIP balances, and finished goods
  • reporting
  • Reconcile physical inventory counts to ERP and accounting records
  • Analyze manufacturing variances including material usage, labor, overhead,
  • and production performance
  • Monitor inventory adjustments, scrap, reserves, and costing accuracy
  • Support BOM and inventory process integrity within ERP systems


Operational Accounting & Bookkeeping Coordination:

  • Act as primary liaison between operations and external
  • bookkeeping/accounting partners
  • Review and validate accounting entries related to inventory, manufacturing
  • operations, operational expenses, and COGS
  • Support reconciliation of ERP operational data to accounting records and
  • financial statements
  • Coordinate month-end close activities and ensure operational transactions
  • are accurately recorded within the proper accounting period
  • Assist in maintaining general ledger accuracy and operational financial
  • integrity

Sales & Revenue Reconciliation:

  • Reconcile operational sales activity between ERP, invoicing systems,
  • financing partners, and accounting records
  • Validate delivered units, invoicing status, customer deposits, and revenue
  • reporting accuracy
  • Support reconciliation of operational delivery reporting to recorded
  • accounting revenue
  • Coordinate with sales, operations, customer service, and bookkeeping teams
  • to resolve discrepancies

Operational Finance & Reporting:

  • Prepare operational KPI reporting related to production, inventory, and
  • manufacturing efficiency
  • Partner with manufacturing leadership to improve visibility into production
  • costs and operational performance
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-tracking initiatives
  • Analyze cost drivers and identify opportunities for operational improvement
  • and margin optimization
  • Support purchasing and procurement teams with financial analysis and cost
  • controls 

ERP, Controls & Process Improvement:

  • Ensure ERP transaction accuracy and operational finance discipline across
  • manufacturing workflows
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve processes between accounting,
  • inventory, purchasing, and production teams
  • Strengthen internal controls related to inventory movement, receiving,
  • production completion, and operational reporting
  • Support development of scalable operational accounting and manufacturing
  • finance processes
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through process optimization and
  • operational accountability

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing accounting, plant finance, operational accounting, or cost accounting

Strong understanding of:

o inventory accounting,

o WIP accounting,

o manufacturing variances,

o accruals,

o operational finance controls,

o reconciliations,

o month-end close support

  • Experience coordinating with bookkeeping or accounting teams
  • Experience working within ERP systems in manufacturing environments
  • Strong Excel and reporting capabilities
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • ERP experience such as Odoo, Oracle, JD Edwards, SAP, AS400, or similar systems preferred

Compensation:

  •  $95,000 – $115,000 annually, depending on experience and profile
  • Performance bonus opportunity
