Job Summary:
The Plant Controller is an individual contributor embedded within the SPP Business Unit, providing day-to-day financial support to the General Manager and plant operations team. Reporting to the SR Controller SIP, this role is responsible for executing plant-level cost accounting, financial reporting, and operational analysis. Strategic financial decisions and senior stakeholder engagement are led by the SR Controller SIP; the Plant Controller ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data that informs those decisions and supports the smooth running of the site.
Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day Operational Finance Support
Serve as the day-to-day financial point of contact for the SPP BU General Manager, providing timely operational financial data and analysis
Support the General Manager with plant-floor cost visibility, including labor, material, overhead, and subcon fee tracking
Assist in preparing and communicating financial results, variance summaries, and operational KPIs to site leadership on a regular cadence
Coordinate with the SR Controller SIP to ensure alignment between plant-level financial activity and broader business unit strategy
Support monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial planning activities as directed by the SR Controller SIP
Accounting & Financial ReportingÂ
Execute and maintain the standard costing system, including material, labor, subcon fees, and overhead cost structures
Prepare journal entries and reconcile inventory to balance sheet and ledger accounts
Perform analysis of gross margin, cost of sales, inventory trends, turnover ratios, and production yield data
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation requirements and support the maintenance of a strong internal control environment
Support HC and other COGS/Manufacturing Variance P&L Forecast in Adaptive Insights
Inventory Accounting & ControlÂ
Plan and execute physical inventories in coordination with Manufacturing
Reconcile physical inventories to SAP for all applicable locations
Review and validate vendor reconciliations performed by the logistics team; follow up on discrepancies as required
Monitor inventory movements and communicate P&L impact to plant leadership and the SR Controller SIP
Reporting & AnalysisÂ
Validate GAAP and non-GAAP P&L results through detailed cost-of-sales analysis
Perform product and customer margin analysis; review and reconcile SAP transactions driving BU P&L reporting across P&L accounts, profit centers, and company codes
Analyze variances arising from production and purchasing activities, including production order variances and purchase price variances (PPV)
Maintain operational reporting and KPI tracking to support plant management decisions
Business Process & SystemsÂ
Ensure timely completion of month-end close processes, including settlement and review of production orders
Support maintenance of standard cost updates, activity and overhead rate updates, and the annual cost roll
Apply ERP (SAP) best practices in daily financial operations; identify and flag process improvement opportunities to the SR Controller SIP
Minimum Qualifications:
  B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA a plus
6+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong cost accounting exposure
Semiconductor industry or high-mix electronics manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Strong understanding of standard costing, manufacturing cost structures, and inventory accounting
Proficiency in large ERP systems; SAP experience required
Solid knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and internal controls
Strong analytical and communication skills; comfortable presenting financial data to operational (non-finance) audiences
Ability to work independently as an individual contributor in a fast-paced plant environment
Experience with Adaptive Insights or comparable FP&A/forecasting tools preferred

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $165,000 - $180,000. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package.
