About the Role As a Planned & Major Gifts Officer, you'll play a key role in building long-term relationships with donors and securing transformational support through planned and major gifts. You'll manage a portfolio of donors, guide them through the giving journey, and help shape the future of True Friends through endowment, capital, and legacy giving. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, with occasional evening or weekend work as needed for events and donor engagement Work Environment: Hybrid role with a mix of remote work, office time, and in-person donor meetings/events Location: Works across all True Friends sites and various community, donor, and event locations throughout Minnesota Pay: $72,332 - $78,447 annually What You'll Do - Build and manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts (with a strong focus on planned giving)
- Dedicate ~75% of time to planned/deferred giving strategies
- Support and advance a multi-year foundation campaign
- Partner with attorneys, financial planners, and estate professionals
- Plan and participate in donor meetings, events, and stewardship activities
- Collaborate with the Development team on fundraising strategies
- Maintain accurate donor records and uphold confidentiality
What You'll Bring - 4-6 years of development experience, including individual fundraising
- Experience with planned and/or major giving
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Ability to engage and influence high-net-worth individuals
- Knowledge of planned giving strategies and donor lifecycle
- Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar CRM a plus
