Job Title: Piping & Structural Designer

Location: Houston, TX (Local candidates only)

Duration: 1-Year Contract (Extension Possible)

Pay: $30–$50/hr on W2

Shift: Day 8am – 5pm

Overview

We are hiring an experienced Piping & Structural Designer / Drafter to support design and drafting activities for Hyperscale Data Center Modules. The role involves piping, structural, and mechanical layouts using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Navisworks in an EPC modular environment.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of piping/structural drafting & design experience
  • EPC Modular Design experience
  • Experience in Data Centers or Industrial Facilities preferred
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • SolidWorks
    • AutoCAD
    • Navisworks
    • BOMs / MTOs
    • Piping layouts & structural drawings
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced projects

Responsibilities

  • Prepare piping, structural, and mechanical drawings
  • Develop BOMs and material take-offs
  • Create layouts, isometrics, supports, and GA drawings
  • Review vendor drawings and ensure QA/QC compliance
  • Support FAT documentation and installation procedures
  • Coordinate with engineering and project teams

Preferred Background

Experience with:

  • Hyperscale Data Centers
  • Modular EPC Projects
  • Industrial Mechanical/Structural Design

Nice to Have

  • Revit / BIM 360
  • SAP exposure
  • Knowledge of ASME, OSHA, NFPA, AWS standards
  • Develop piping isometrics, equipment arrangements, and piping
  • Produce detailed drawings and piping designs
  • Lead work activities of piping designers to support modernization projects performed in-house or by third-party designers/firms
