State Utility Contractors, a leading environmental service facilities builder in the Carolinas, is seeking a skilled and experienced Pipeline Foreman to join our Pipeline Division. • Lead and supervise a crew in the installation of water and sewer pipelines and related underground utility work.
• Oversee the installation of pipe, manholes, valves, hydrants, fittings, services, and other utility structures.
• Read and interpret project plans, specifications, blueprints, cut sheets, and complex diagrams.
• Carry and maintain grade using pipe laser equipment and other grade-control tools.
• Coordinate daily work activities, materials, equipment, and crew production.
• Operate or assist with equipment operation, including backhoes, track hoes, excavators, and front-end loaders when needed.
• Ensure proper installation and use of trench shoring, trench boxes, sloping, and other excavation safety measures.
• Confirm that company safety standards and procedures are followed by employees and subcontractors.
• Communicate with superintendents, project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and other field personnel.
• Assist with manual labor when required to help the crew complete the work.
• Professionally represent the company to coworkers, owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and the general public.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a crew in underground utility construction preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in water and sewer pipeline installation or related underground utility work.
• Experience operating backhoes, track hoes, excavators, and front-end loaders preferred.
• Ability to read project plans, specifications, blueprints, and cut sheets.
• Ability to carry and maintain grade using pipe laser equipment.
• Knowledge of trench safety, excavation safety, shoring, sloping, and trench box use.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong commitment to quality, safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
• Trench safety, OSHA, competent person, first aid/CPR, and general safety certifications are a plus.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold.
• Routinely lift and move 10–25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Work overtime, nights, and weekends when required.
