We are an industry leader in heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) with both domestic and international customers.Position SummaryVogt Power International is looking for a talented Pipe Stress Engineer to work on a multi-discipline project team to analyze and review the ASME pressure parts and supports associated with our Heat Recovery Steam Generators.Essential Functions / ResponsibilitiesPerform flexibility analyses for piping systems to ensure stresses are within code allowable limitsDevelop piping stress models which include all physical properties of the piping, its contents, and insulationLocate and design pipe supports and restraints which maintain static equilibrium and minimize stressesWork directly with our design group to ensure the detailed support designs are created accurately and on scheduleWork directly with Piping Designers, Structural Engineers, Product Engineers, Project Engineers, Lead Designers, and others to ensure pipe routing and equipment access is optimized and that loads are properly addressed where piping interfaces with equipment or supports interface with the main structureUse hand calculations, internal spreadsheets, programs, or other tools to determine or validate miscellaneous expansions, stresses, loads, and support designsPerform dynamic analyses to determine loads originating from safety valve opening, steam turbine trip, or other dynamic eventsCreate specifications, lists, requisitions, and review quotes to support the procurement of pipe support materialCommunicate and coordinate with VPI's customer (or customer's representative) to ensure VPI's piping scope interfaces properly with the customer's piping scopeProvide organized and well written reports to describe assumptions, steps taken, and results from work performedProvide leadership by learning, developing, and coordinating new techniques, standardizing procedures, and providing technical instruction and mentoring to department staffParticipate in project team and client meetings, as neededFollow all company and department ISO procedures and work instructionsPerform other duties as assignedTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
