OVERVIEW Find your future at Fastenal Our distribution center is hiring energetic team oriented individuals to work in our fast pace warehouse Working as Full-time Picking Assistant Manager you will assist in managing the Picking department. After a branch places an order the Picking department is responsible for picking the requested quantity packing the order printing a label with a routing number and sending the product to the Sortation department. You will motivate and provide leadership to team members to ensure day-to-day operations are completed safely accurately efficiently and on time. RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited too Motivating and leading team members o Coordinating employees including scheduling hiring and exiting o Ensuring day-to-day operations are completed o Communicating with employees and branches o Picking orders and packing product efficiently and accurately o Operating computer programs scanners and printers to label product o Using a scale for weighing product o Analyzing staffing needs reports and projections to optimize output and meet department goals o Utilizing data to implement changes and identify areas for improvement o Maintaining the cleanlinessorganization of work area o Complying with health safety and sustainability rules and expectations o Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health safety and sustainability objectives o Learning passing and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS The following skills and qualifications are required for this position o Possess prior leadership or management work experience o Knowledge of computer operations including warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Applications o Proficient written and oral communication skills o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Highly motivated self directed and customer service oriented o Lead and motivate a team of employees o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Exhibit strong problem solving deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Demonstrate strong organization planning and prioritizing abilities o Demonstrate strong math aptitude attention to detail and sense of urgency o Willingness to work a flexible scheduleextra time as needed o Demonstrate our core values of ambition innovation integrity and teamwork o Lift slide carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs o Pass the required drug screen applicable in the US Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS o Prior experience operating a forklift o Prior warehouse work experience
